Abstract

Introduction: Cervical cancer stands out as the second most common type of neoplasm that affects women worldwide, and its incidence is related to the lack of preventive methods. Objective: The objective of the study is to analyze the number of cases of cervical cancer in the city of Uberlândia (MG) from 2013 to 2023, as well as to investigate the association between age group and the number of cases, the method and duration of treatment during the same period. Methodology: This is a retrospective analytical study based on secondary data from the DATASUS platform. A quadratic regression model was used to investigate the relationship between age group and the number of diagnosed cases of cervical cancer, and the other variables were analyzed by Excel software. Results and Discussion: There is a downward trend in the percentage of cervical neoplasms between 2016 and 2019, with a slight increase between 2019 and 2021, followed by a decline from 2021 onwards. Additionally, the model is representative of reality, especially in the middle ages, with the peak incidence of the disease occurring in the age group of 45 to 49 years. Conclusion: There is a noticeable decline in cervical cancer compared to other neoplasms from 2013 to 2023 in Uberlândia - MG. However, there is still a need for health education and increased preventive coverage, considering that it is a preventable disease.
