Dengue, Chikungunya, Zika, and yellow fever are diseases that strongly impact the population, especially in vulnerable urban areas. OBJECTIVE: The study aims to examine the socioeconomic factors influencing the emergence and spread of these arboviruses in Brazil, seeking patterns that explain epidemiological behavior. Methodology: The research was conducted through an integrative literature review organized into five stages, including searches in academic databases and the selection of relevant studies. Inclusion criteria focused on the relationship between socioeconomic factors and arboviruses in urban areas of Brazil. Results: Socioeconomic factors that favors the spread of diseases were identified, such as inequality, low income, disordered urbanization, and lack of infrastructure. In contrast, higher levels of education and access to basic services contribute to protection. The analysis showed that urban areas with high population density and poor sanitation conditions are more susceptible to the proliferation of Aedes aegypti. Conclusion: Socioeconomic factors are determinants in the dynamics of arboviruses in Brazilian cities. Public policies that improve infrastructure and reduce social inequalities are essential to control these diseases, also considering climatic variables that affect transmission. Therefore, an integrated approach is necessary to address the challenges of arboviruses.
However, semaglutide showed superior results, with losses of up to 38% of body mass, especially in patients with a BMI >30, standing out as more effective than sibutramine and placebo, even with lower doses and prolonged treatments. In conclusion, both drugs were effective in weight loss, but semaglutide proved to be significantly superior, with losses of up to 38%, milder side effects and greater efficacy in severe cases of obesity.
Misaell Souto Pacheco, João Victor Tristão de Pádua , Maria Eduarda de Oliveira , Rafael Lopes Pena de Sousa (Autor) Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Master - Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://revistamaster.emnuvens.com.br/RM/article/view/701 Wed, 12 Nov 2025 00:00:00 -0300 Telemedicina e suas implicações para a psiquiatria https://revistamaster.emnuvens.com.br/RM/article/view/693
Mental disorders, especially depression and anxiety, are a growing public health concern. Despite barriers to accessing psychiatric services, technological innovations, such as telemedicine, are promising solutions to mitigate the mental health crisis, especially in the post- COVID 19 pandemic context, which has accelerated the adoption of telemedicine, changing the way patients’ services are offered. Therefore, this article is an integrative literature review and its objective is to establish whether there is a consensus in the literature on the effectiveness of telemedicine in psychiatry. To this end, the PubMed and SciELO databases were used, considering articles published in the last 10 years. The descriptors were “telemedicine”, “health impact assessment”, “Physicians’ Offices”, “Psychiatry”, combined by the Boolean operator “AND”. 103 articles were selected and after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 22 articles were selected. Based on the literature used, it appears that telepsychiatry presents an effective approach, offering advantages such as accessibility, cost reduction and flexibility, especially in the treatment of disorders such as depression and anxiety. However, its effectiveness may be limited in cases of eating disorders, presenting contradictory results in relation to substance abuse. Patient satisfaction is generally high, it can also facilitate early interventions and care coordination. However, challenges such as privacy, the need for technological training and internet access need to be addressed, so more research is needed to assess its impact on patients. Integrating telepsychiatry with in-person care through hybrid models can provide more comprehensive and personalized care.
Prematurity, defined as birth before 37 weeks of gestational age, is an important risk factor for delays in neuropsychomotor development. This study describes the epidemiological profile of congenital syphilis in Minas Gerais between 2019 and 2023, highlighting trends and failures in treatment and diagnosis. Although preventable and with low-cost treatment, congenital syphilis continues to negatively impact child health, revealing gaps in prenatal care. This quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional study analyzed confirmed cases of congenital syphilis in Minas Gerais, using data from the last five years available on SINAN/DATASUS. Epidemiological variables (year, month, mother's education, newborn's sex and race/ethnicity), screening variables (prenatal care, maternal syphilis, and partner treatment), and outcome variables (final classification and evolution) were analyzed. Bibliographic research was conducted between August and October 2024, using databases such as PubMed, SciELO, and Google Scholar. Collected data were organized in Excel for presentation. Ethical approval was not required as the data are public. During the study period, 9,709 cases of congenital syphilis were reported in Minas Gerais, with the highest number of cases in 2019. Significant partner treatment failure was observed, a factor contributing to the persistence of vertical transmission. The study concludes that strengthening public health policies during prenatal care, focusing on early screening and proper treatment of both the pregnant woman and her partner, is essential to reduce the incidence of congenital syphilis, contributing to the WHO's goal of eradicating the disease.
Arthur Pereira Resende Pereira Resende, Isabela Aparecida Garcia Gil, Patrícia Sthefânia Ferreira, Gustavo Resende Pereira (Autor) Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Master - Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://revistamaster.emnuvens.com.br/RM/article/view/695 Wed, 12 Nov 2025 00:00:00 -0300 Análise do conhecimento sobre Métodos Contraceptivos entre alunos do Ensino Médio da cidade de Araguari – MG https://revistamaster.emnuvens.com.br/RM/article/view/710
Misinformation about the use of contraceptive methods persists today and its consequences still
constitute a problematic scenario for public health.
