Associação entre a qualidade de vida e incapacidade em pessoas vivendo com psoríase

The aim of the study was to analyze the association between quality of life and disability in people living with psoriasis (PVP). This is a quantitative cross-sectional study carried out between July 2021 and January 2022 with the participation of PVP aged between 18 and 65 years. One hundred and fourteen PVP responded, in an online format, to three questionnaires: (i) sociodemographic questionnaire, (ii) dermatology quality of life index (DLQI) and (iii) psoriasis disability index (PDI). For the correlation between the DLQI scores and the PDI domains, in addition to the correlations with the variables family income, age group and educational level, Spearman's correlation coefficient was used, with a significance level when p <0.05. No significant differences were found between genders, educational level, region of residence and family history between the scores of the PDI and DLQI domains. The DLQI correlated with the domains of daily activities (r= -0.43, p<0.01), school or work (r= -0.34, p<0.01), leisure (r= 0, 61, p<0.01) and treatment (r=0.18, p=0.05). The daily activities domain correlated with school or work (r= 0.35, p<0.01), personal relationships (r= 0.33, p<0.01) and treatment (r= 0.19, p =0.03). The school or work domain correlated with personal relationships (r=0.35, p<0.01) and treatment (r=0.19, p=0.03). Personal relationships correlated with treatment (r=0.25, p<0.01) and leisure correlated with treatment (r=0.2, p=0.03). We conclude that psoriasis reduces the quality of life and causes damage to the daily lives of people affected by the disease.
